Celebrating a Centenarian Plus One (Glenwell)

May 29, 2013 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Glenwell resident Florence Raczynski celebrated her incredible 101st Birthday on Friday, May 24 with cake, ice cream, flowers, cards and plenty of smiles and reminiscing. Florence’s official birthday was the following day, and she enjoyed the afternoon with family and friends.

Florence and her husband John were world travelers, circling the globe three separate times on vacations. Her favorite destination was Poland.

“Not because I’m Polish,” she jokes, “but because it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever witnessed. The food, the people, it beat even Paris and Rome!”

“All three were great children, college graduates,” she exclaims with pride.

In her amazing lifetime, Florence has witnessed 19 different U.S. presidents, and she’s lived through everything from World War One to 9/11.

“I’ve lived a great life, very interesting,” Florence adds. “If I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
