Rooting on the Home Team (Heath House)
May 30, 2013 (Lincolnton, NC) ─ It was a nail biter of a game as residents of Heath House, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Lincolnton, watched the Hickory Crawdads avert a near loss against the West Virginia Power.
With a 6-3 lead in the top of the ninth, it looked to be an easy win for the ‘Dads. Things quickly changed with the Crawdads falling behind in a 7-6 deficit at the bottom of the 10th inning. Catcher David Lyon was able to save the day with a walk-off RBI single. The final score was 8-7.

Residents enjoyed a traditional ball park lunch complete with hot dogs, chips and soda. They were excited to see the Heath House name scroll across the electronic score board and broke out in cheering when Heath House was announced over the loud speaker, said Activities Director Katelyn Davis.
“Overall the residents had a great day just watching the game and cheering on the home team,” said Davis. “They all sang aloud whenever ‘Take Me Out to the Ballgame’ came on the speakers.”
