Elvis Back by Popular Demand
July 31, 2013 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Buffalo’s award-winning Elvis impersonator Terry Buchwald took time from touring to perform for residents and family at Glenwell on July 25. This is the second year in a row Buchwald has brought the hits of Elvis to the residents of Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga.
Activities Director Scott Wieser said Buchwald had residents, staff and family and friends on their feet and singing along to the hits. He is pictured clockwise with Glenwell residents Lois ‘Carol’ Calos and Bill Casey, Lena Katilus, Irmgard Pamer and Angelo Chianta and Mary ‘Sue’ Goergen.
With over 40,000 CDs sold, Buchwald has performed in many major cities in the United States and Canada including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Hollywood, New York City and Toronto, as well as in countries as far away as Japan, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
A Buffalo Music Award winner, Buchwald was inducted into the Buffalo Music Awards Hall of Achievement in 2010 and was awarded the Night-Life Life Time Achievement Award from the Buffalo Night-Life Music and Club Awards in 2011. Last year, Buchwald was honored by his alma mater, Depew High School, for his work in the community and with local charities.
