Building Homes One Step at a Time (Westwood Commons)

August 26, 2013 (North Chili, NY) ─ Over 20 Westwood Commons residents and their family members participated in the DePaul Senior Living Community’s seventh annual walk to benefit Flower City Habitat for Humanity on August 20.

A non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity International has built more than 300,000 homes since its inception in 1976. The Flower City Habitat for Humanity builds seven to ten homes every year, with the total at 180 as of this year.

Past recipients of Westwood Commons’ charity walks have included the Chili Volunteer Ambulance Service, Aurora House, the Chili Fire Department, the Al Sigl Center, the Chili Rotary Club’s wheelchair fund, and a local food shelf.
