Out on the Town (Twelve Oaks)
October 10, 2013 (Mt. Airy, NC) ─ From the foggy Blue Ridge Parkway to classic cars, red delicious apples and a picnic at a local park, residents of Twelve Oaks, a DePaul Senior Living Community, recently enjoyed a great fall day out and about on the town.
After a foggy drive up to take in the scenic views on the Blue Ridge Parkway, residents made their way to the Virginia Carolina Produce Stand where they received free red or golden delicious apples. On their next stop, residents viewed antique cars at the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and on Main Street in downtown Mt. Airy.
The day wrapped up with a picnic lunch of pimento cheese and chicken salad sandwiches, chips snacks and refreshments at Westwood Park.
“From the country side to the city, everyone had an awesome time just riding around and doing some sightseeing,” said Activities Director Anna Burford.
