October 11, 2013 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ It wasn’t the world’s largest fair in Munich, Germany but it came close. Residents at Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community, donned their lederhosen and raised their steins to Oktoberfest earlier this month.

Traditional German music was provided by Romundo on “accordion.” After enjoying the polka and some authentic German beverages, residents and family dined on butter spätzle, brat and black forest ham sandwiches with gruyere cheese and caramelized onions on marble rye, red cabbage with apples and apple strudel.

“The weather was perfect and we had a huge turnout from families,” said Activities Director Scott Wieser.
