Random Acts of Kindness (Dayspring of Wallace)
November 11, 2013 (Wallace, NC) ─Members of the Wallace Chapter of the Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society recently presented care packages to the residents at Dayspring of Wallace, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Wallace.
Residents at Dayspring of Wallace received body wash, shampoo, wash clothes, socks, toothpaste and toothbrushes.
“I’m not sure what the residents enjoyed more ─ the gifts or the hugs they got when receiving their gifts,” said Activities Director Lisa Rich.
According to chapter member Candace Knowles, the Woodmen of the World provide flags to non-profit organizations and churches, loan out medical equipment such as wheelchairs, take on a number of community projects, as well as donating small gift bags to seniors at four area senior living communities throughout the year as part of the organization’s commitment to strengthening the communities in which they reside.
“It makes you feel good to know you’ve done something to make their day brighter and the world just a little bit better,” she said.
