Warm and Fuzzy Holiday Season (Hickory Village Memory Care)

January 9, 2014 (Hickory, NC) ─ From the bustle of family and friends to the daily caroling from the Hickory Village Choir, the holidays were a joyous time at Hickory Village Memory Care.

December kicked off with festive crafts and social events, including plenty of cocoa and a day dedicated to making gingerbread houses! The halls of Hickory Village were filled with the contemporary and sacred songs by the Hickory Village Choir, comprised primarily of female residents. As Christmas crept closer, residents and staff got in the holiday spirit at the annual “Dancing and Caroling Christmas Party,” featuring a resident favorite: Karaoke with Ponytail Bob.

The holidays were even more special this year thanks to donations from two area companies, Shurtape and CommScope, which were used to purchase a fleece jacket for each resident, a gift that brought “true joy,” according to Hickory Village Activities Director Anna Wilson.

“Honestly, being at Hickory Village…was the highlight of my Christmas,” said Wilson. “It reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas and how blessed we all really are.”
