Olympic Fever (Horizons)

February 20, 2014 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ It’s been a close contest as residents at Horizons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Canandaigua, have competed for red, blue and yellow ribbons in an Olympic competition. Residents were divided into three teams: Diamonds in the Rough, Ruby Rockers and Emerald Islanders.

Teams competed in events including downhill skiing, which entailed a 100-foot wheelchair race; slalom, which was similar to downhill skiing only with obstacles; hockey; an Olympic word jumble; curling using a shuffle board and a word search. Teams could also earn points based on their team’s spirit in cheering one another on.
