NCADD-RA Seeking Nominations for Annual Luncheon Awards
March 5, 2014 (Rochester, NY) ─ The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence-Rochester Area, (NCADD-RA) invites the community to submit nominations for two of its annual awards, the Charlotte Hegedus Community Excellence Award and the Helen Guthrie Youth Advocate Award.
These awards are given in memory of Charlotte Hegedus, a former president of the NCADD-RA Advisory Board and Helen Guthrie, the former chair of the Social Work Department at Nazareth College and NCADD-RA Advisory Board Member.
The person selected for the Charlotte Hegedus Award will meet these criteria:
- At least five years of professional or volunteer service to individuals and groups with alcohol and/or other abuse problems.
- Demonstrate a consistently high level of collaborative work with individuals or groups that provide prevention, intervention or treatment.
- Through professional and personal life, serves as role model for other professionals or volunteers.
The person selected for the Helen Guthrie Award will meet these criteria:
- At least five years of professional involvement with youth in the substance abuse prevention, intervention or treatment field.
- Has shown initiative and innovation in impacting the lives of youth.
- Exemplifies a healthy personal and professional lifestyle.
Nominations must be received before April 4, 2014. The award will be presented at the NCADD-RA Annual Luncheon on May 2, 2014.
