Residents explored the area’s natural history and native cultures in Pee Dee History Hall, learning about the region before the time of European exploration before heading over to the collections of Florence native, African-American artist William H. Johnson. Pictured here are Pee Dee Gardens residents Berniece Ammons, Kenton Walker, Brenda Bullard, Joe Reino and George Gagne.

“The art and history museum was the perfect outing for rainy weather!” said Activities Director Carly Yaken. “It was a quiet and relaxing yet stimulating for our minds.”

In early, April, residents headed back out on the town for the carnival at Florence Civic Center. Residents won animals and even a goldfish playing games and enjoyed a corndog and diet coke.

“We laughed watching kids and families on the rides,” said Yaken. “We ate and played games until the sun went down. Residents still have not stopped raving about how much fun they had at the carnival!”
