Lending a Hand (Wexford House)
April 1, 2015 (Denver, NC) ─ It was a simple act of kindness. Residents of Wexford House, a DePaul Senior Living Community, spent an afternoon volunteering to hang baby clothing. For the expectant and new mothers seeking assistance from the non-profit East Lincoln Pregnancy Center, that small gesture is part of a much needed helping hand.

“Volunteering in the community allows residents an opportunity to feel productive and to give back to society,” said Activities Director Leslie Spinner. “There is always something for us to do!”

“It’s nice to do something for other people and it brings back memories of when my children were younger,” Wexford House resident Sarah Cooke said about volunteering at the pregnancy center. “I enjoy being needed.”
Formed in 1998, The East Lincoln Pregnancy Center provides pregnant women with emotional support and practical assistance for themselves and their babies. The ministry is funded by churches, individuals, businesses and three major fundraisers throughout the year and relies on volunteers to work as advocates, receptionists and office administrators.
