A Day at the Zoo (Woodridge)
June 25, 2015 (Monroe, NC) ─ Llamas, zebras and horses delighted residents and staff from Woodridge, a DePaul Senior Living Community Assisted Living and Memory Care Community in Monroe, during a recent visit to Why Not an American Ark Two By Two Petting Zoo.
Residents viewed the large animals including American Bison, cows, hogs and more roaming the pastures from the comfort of a hayride, and also enjoyed some upclose, hands-on petting with a few large farm animals and smaller creatures including goats, turtles, rabbits and birds. Pictured above petting a baby goat are Woodridge resident Margie Eudy with her daughter Becky Helms, and resident Judith Cairns. In addition residents viewed a camel, turkeys and chickens.
“After the hayride we had a picnic type lunch under the shaded porch at the zoo,” said Activities Director Brittany Plyler. “It was great!”
