Hook, Line and Sinker (Southfork)

July 27, 2015 (Winston-Salem, NC) ─ A worm on the hook, a flick of the wrist and then it was a matter of waiting and watching the bobber for a bite! Residents of Southfork, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Winston-Salem, recently cast their lines at the 73-acre C.G. Hill Memorial Park in Pfafftown and reeled in a day of rest and relaxation.

“It was very scenic and beautiful,” said Activities Director Angel Parrish.

Pictured above waiting patiently for a fish to bite are Southfork residents Judy Sink, Jane Myers, Brenda Bailey, Libby Carter, Miriam Fuller, Gerald Edwards along with Transportation Aide and part-time Activities Assistant Karen Davis and Administrator Matthew Harkness.

While the residents didn’t reel in the big one, Southfork Administrator Matthew Harkness and Parrish had a friendly competition comparing the size of their catches! Parrish said residents enjoyed the fountain in the middle of the lake, the gazebo surrounded by flowering plants, and sitting in the shade by the water’s edge.
