Honoring Our Nation’s Veterans (Horizons)
November 10, 2015 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize some of the 23 million brave men and women who have selflessly served our country and risked their lives to protect our freedoms. Horizons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Canandaigua, has the honor of caring for several area veterans.
Charlie Aponte served in the Corporal 150 Field Artillery
in the Army near the capital of Korea during the Korean War.
Daniel Burns served as a Private in the Army
in Panama during the Korean War.
Philip Cissell served as a Sergeant
in the Navy during the Korean War.
Joseph Furfure served as a Private
in the Marines during World War II.
Paul Hooley served as an E4 on an aircraft carrier
in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Harold Israel served as a T5 in the Army,
stationed in Honolulu and Osaka, Japan during World War II.
Paul Lang served as a Lance Corporal in the
Marines during the Vietnam War.
Brad Stanton served as a Sergeant and Intercept Radio Operator
in the Air Force, stationed in Kyushu, Japan during the Korean War.
Dan Troy served as an A/1C Airman First Class in the Airforce,
stationed in the Philippine Islands during the Korean War.
Charles VanDeMar served as an ROTC Officer
for the Navy during the Korean War.
