Honoring Our Nation’s Veterans (Twelve Oaks)
November 10, 2015 (Mt. Airy, NC) ─ Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize some of the 23 million brave men and women who have selflessly served our country and risked their lives to protect our freedoms. Twelve Oaks, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Mt. Airy, has the honor of caring for several area veterans.
Claude Branch served as a Private First Class in the Army
during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.
James David Carpenter served as an E4 in the Navy and an E6 in the
Marines, stationed in Norfolk and Quantico, Virginia.
Troy Johnson served as a Specialist 4 in the Army
during the Korean War.
Bill Johnson served as a Corporal in the Army
during World War II.
Jim Moore served as an E5 in the Army
in a medical clinic during the Vietnam War.
Ruth Smith served in the Navy during World War II.
Bobby Thomas served as a Private First Class in the Army

Also living at Twelve Oaks is veteran James Slate, a Private in the Army who was stationed in Northern France and Central Europe during World War II.
