Festive Wreaths Add Seasonal Color (Twelve Oaks)
February 19, 2016 (Mt. Airy, NC) ─ Cheery red and pink hearts alternated with crisp blue and white snowflakes are adding a festive feel to the halls of Twelve Oaks where residents got crafty creating homemade wreaths for the season!
Pictured here, Twelve Oaks resident Eva Briggs shows off her homemade Valentine’s Day heart wreath and Brenda Edmonds displays her snowflake wreath. The heart wreaths were made with 2” X 11” strips of colored construction paper which were folded in half and then the stapled together on both ends. Once the hearts were completed, residents stapled 11 of them together in the shape of an oval and added a string for hanging.

For the winter-themed wreaths, residents cut snowflakes out of white paper and then glued them onto blue cardstock and glued that to packaging foam to create a three-dimensional look. The wreaths were lovely and residents have been proudly displaying them on their doors or giving them to relatives and friends as seasonal gifts!
