March 11, 2016 (Hickory, NC) ─ There was cake, hugs and plenty of smiles to share as residents and staff at Hickory Village Memory Care, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Hickory, spent Friday, March 4th celebrating Employee Appreciation Day.

Residents came up with the idea to recognize the staff at Hickory Village during their February Resident Council meeting.

“It is important that staff know that it is the little things that they do that makes life better for each resident,” said Activities Director Anna Wilson. “Our staff goes beyond the activities of daily living and meeting basic human needs to a personal connection with our residents. Administrator Susan Blizzard states ‘care’ is the common denominator in our team and it works well.”
