Mother’s Day Tea Tradition (Westwood Commons)
May 12, 2016 (North Chili, NY) ─ “If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love,” singer/songwriter Stevie Wonder once said.
Mothers, grandmothers and women residents at Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Chili, were honored with sweet-smelling homemade flower pot sachets and a good old fashioned tea party complete with cookies and chocolate-covered strawberries. Pictured here Westwood Commons residents Elaine Koch and Jane Harriff enjoy a small gesture of appreciation during the community’s annual Mother’s Day celebration.
“Not all of the women at Westwood Commons are technically mothers, but they are all mothers to each and every one of us,” said Activities Director Cathy Toney.
Pictured here is Westwood Commons resident Lucille Connell with violinist Lynn Arnold who has performed at the community’s Mother’s Day celebration for the past six years.
