Moonlight Serenade (Horizons)
June 8, 2016 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Silver and blue stars and metallic streamers and a disco ball reflected the light of decorated glass luminaires as residents of Horizons, a DePaul Senior Living Community, stepped onto the dance floor at the fourth annual intergenerational Senior Ball! Students from the Canandaigua Academy’s Key Club, a Kiwanis International High School Program, were on hand to uphold this yearly tradition along with entertainer Joe Miltsch who kept students and seniors dancing!
Pictured here, Horizons resident Betty Hoffman shares a dance with Key Club member Kathleen Wantuck while resident Don McDonald and Key Club Advisor Karen Smith enjoy the music together.
“Lots of laughs and smiles were had by all,” said Activities Director Patricia Schultz. “The residents really enjoyed themselves and especially seeing the students doing the line dancing and having fun.”
“It’s definitely a highlight event for Key Club,” said Advisor Karen Smith. “Horizons makes it so easy…they take care of everything, and we show up ready to dance and mingle. I wish the students’ parents could see them at the event. They would be so proud!”
