“Sometimes the cost of fresh produce at the grocery store might be too high or it might be too cold for the residents,” said Activities Director Cartia Mitchell. “The Charlotte Farmer’s Markets fits our residents’ wants and needs with reasonable prices and nice shopping temperatures.”

Owned and operated by the state of North Carolina and North CarolinaDepartment of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Charlotte Farmer’s Market is open Tuesday through Sunday in May through September. Offerings at the market include fresh produce, fresh pork products, grass fed beef, goat milk cheese, baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, unique handmade crafts, goat milk soap and fresh cut flowers.

According to the Market’s website, if the produce was any fresher, it would still be in the garden! For more information about East Towne, please contact Administrator Akwiasdi Revels at (704) 531-0948 or visit us on Facebook.
