Wexford House Believes

 January 18, 2017 (Denver, NC) ─ The magic of Christmas is alive and well at Wexford House, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Denver.

Wexford House resident Merle Moore makes homemade cookies, Frances Genta enjoys a holiday party alongside family members and Mary Kanupp gives the dreidel a spin during a Hanukah party

Overton and Weakland are Wexford House residents Rick Taylor, Nany Killian, Jackie Taylor, Betty Sigmon, Valerie Rogers and Frances Genta.Library Assistant Ashlie Overton and Children’s Librarian Mollie Weakland from Shanklin Public Library volunteered their time, providing supplies and assistance to residents to make pinecone Christmas trees.

“The residents took their work very seriously,” said Overton. “A lot of fun was had by all and we are looking forward to our next visit to Wexford House soon.”

First-graders at Southlake Christian Academy blessed the residents at Wexford House with Christmas carols as well as stockings filled with goodies!

“The interaction between the residents and the children was such a precious experience for everyone involved,” said teacher Meagan Dove. “It was such a blessing for these children to understand the true meaning of Christmas and how so very important it is to give to others.”
