Embracing Winter at Woodridge
February 9, 2017 (Monroe, NC) ─ The groundhog saw his shadow, signifying six more weeks of winter. Residents at Woodridge have no complaints! From ice cream parties and hot chocolate socials to plenty of crafts, there’s been no shortage of ways to fight cabin fever at the DePaul Senior Living Community in Monroe.

Socializing over a good party is also a great way to pass the winter months as well, said Activities Director Brittany Plyler.
“They especially enjoyed the ice cream party with all the toppings they had to choose from including sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries,” she said. “And with the colder weather, a hot chocolate social is always a fun way to warm up and spend some time with friends.”

“The residents seemed excited about the first snow of the season,” said Plyler. “When it snows it always seems to bring back good memories about making snow cream and going sledding!”
