Comfort Cat a Joy For All (Woodridge)

April 13, 2017 (Monroe, NC) ─ “I love you,” resident Delores Street said to the grey motorized cat on her lap which let out an audible “meow” in response. Gently bouncing the cat on her leg, Delores said “she’s so pretty.”

Woodridge, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Monroe, recently welcomed “Scarlette,” a Hasbro Joy For All Companion Pet. With realistic fur and cat-like sounds – and sensors that respond to petting and hugs – Scarlette is being welcomed to Woodridge with open arms, big smiles and lots of laughter.

“The first day that I introduced the residents to Scarlette, they fell in love with her instantly,” said Woodridge Memory Care Activities Director Sheka Garris. “She received many hugs and kisses from the residents.”

Garris said the Companion Pet is especially powerful for residents who once had cats as children or adults.

“This pet can trigger a happy and loving emotion in residents,” said Garris. “Their responses are priceless every time!”

Woodridge Administrator Janis Carol said Scarlette has brought an air of peace, comfort and tranquility to the community! See Delores’ reaction to the Joy For All Cat by visiting https://www.facebook.com/woodridgedepaul/videos/803597336458984/
