Sisters Celebrate Milestone Birthdays
April 5, 2017 (North Chili, NY) ─ Sisters Evelyn Gravina and Florence Francione didn’t have to travel too far to wish one another a Happy Birthday. Evelyn turned 100 years old on March 21st and her sister Florence wasn’t far behind her, turning 104 years old on March 25th. Both are residents of Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Chili.
Pictured here are Florence and Evelyn now, and Florence and Evelyn a few years ago. The two sisters grew up in Rochester with five other siblings. Both graduated from Washington High School.
Following graduation, Evelyn worked as a secretary for several local companies including Bond Clothing & Hickock. For hobbies, Evelyn enjoyed bowling and playing Pinochle.
Florence married Albert, a neighbor, and they had two sons. They are pictured here on the left. Florence and Albert enjoyed entertaining and traveling. Florence’s hobbies included cooking, playing Pinochle and sewing.
Both sisters have traveled extensively, some of it together. Florence and Albert visited Italy and traveled across the US to the West coast and down South while Evelyn visited Hawaii, the Canadian Rockies and Puerto Rico. Longevity runs in the family. Florence and Evelyn’s parents and siblings all lived into their late 90s, except one sister who passed away at the age of 84.
