Behind the Scenes at the Fire Department (Horizons)
May 9, 2017 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Sporting pink fire hats and big smiles, residents from Horizons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Canandaigua, were all ears during a recent open house at the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department in late-April.
Pictured clockwise above are Horizons residents Joanne Fegley in a fire truck, Liz Steinmetz with a fire fighter, Rose Lenzi in a fire truck and Joanne Fegley, Resident Care Director Kim Patterson-Brown and Liz Steinmetz outside the fire hall.

Residents got to take turns sitting in the fire truck and check out the equipment including a bucket ladder! Firefighters also demonstrated how they’re trained to fall out of a window safely.
“We had a great time learning about the trucks and all the equipment on them,” said Horizons Activities Director Patricia Schultz. “The fireman were extremely kind and answered all the questions the ladies had, and they had a lot!”
