Birds of Prey On Display (Woodcrest Commons)
May 12, 2017 (Henrietta, NY) ─ Where else can you see bobcats, bald eagles and deer all in one place? At none other than Wild Wings Inc. at Mendon Ponds Park. Residents from Woodcrest Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Henrietta, enjoyed feathered friends as far as the eye could see during a recent visit to the not-for-profit educational organization which houses and cares for permanently injured birds of prey that are unable to survive in the wild.
Pictured clockwise above are Woodcrest Commons residents Doug Kurlan, Kathy Hart, John Hicks and Rosanne Bourne at the Wild Wings bird sanctuary in Mendon Ponds. They were delighted to meet “Barf” the vulture and bald eagles “Athena” and “Grace.” The day was complete with a sighting of “Tara” the bobcat and a drive around the park to spot deer!
“We are hoping to see bald eagles in the wild next month when we go to the Braddock Bay Raptors Research facility,” said Woodcrest Commons Activity Director Lindsay Lown.
