Celebrating National Assisted Living Week (Westwood Commons)

September 28, 2018 (North Chili, NY) ─ Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Chili, recognized National Assisted Living Week (NALW) September 9-15 with a fun-filled week of activities aimed at helping residents live life to its fullest!

Pictured clockwise above, resident Mary Light and her daughter enjoy a presentation on old-fashioned hot cocoa from volunteers with the Genesee Country Village Museum; Ruth Willis tries on a hat at Oktoberfest at Durand Eastman Park; Judy Kinch celebrates her win in bingo with staff member Chris Platek, and Ruth Willis and Dorothy Harkness raise their glasses at Oktoberfest.

Pictured above, Westwood Commons staff member Krystyna Andrzejczyk assists resident Eleanor Burlingame in a round of Jenga and residents Chester Seil and Anna Bell enjoy a horse and buggy ride. This year’s NALW theme “Capture the Moment” encourages reflection as residents look back on pivotal moments in their lives and serves as a reminder to staff that the little, everyday interactions with residents are essential in delivering high quality, person-centered care.
