Three Cheers for Senior Olympians (Horizons)
November 2, 2018 (Canandaigua, NY) ─ Residents of Horizons a DePaul Senior Living Community in Canandaigua, competed in the 11th Annual DePaul Senior Olympics on Friday, October 19 at DePaul’s Recreation Center located at 1931 Buffalo Road in Rochester.
Pictured clockwise above, a Horizons resident receives a ribbon from DePaul Activity Coordinator Austin Pettigrew for her first place finish in Keep Up; Donald McDonald smiles after taking first place in the Bean Bag Toss; Rick Keller receives an award from Pettigrew for finishing second in the Bean Bag Toss, and Garda Houston accepts a medal for her first place finish in the word search.
Horizons Senior Olympians included Garda Houston, Activities Director Sarah Mason, Donald McDonald, Rick Keller and Susan Stewart.
Events included a spelling bee, word search, ladder golf, shuffleboard, a putting green, bean bag toss, Wii Bowling and Keep Up. Horizons participated in the annual games along with residents from four other DePaul Senior Living Communities – Woodcrest Commons in Henrietta, Westwood Commons in North Chili, Glenwell in Cheektowaga and Wheatfield Commons in North Tonawanda.
