August 29, 2019 (North Tonawanda, NY) ─ Nothing says summer like a cookout with family and friends. Over 250 attendees recently enjoyed a family picnic at Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Tonawanda.

Pictured above at the festivities is Wheatfield Commons resident Mary Murphy and her sons, and Nina R. and family. Music was provided by a DJ and residents and families captured memories in a fun photo booth! The menu included Italian sausage with peppers & onions, hot dogs, macaroni salad, baked beans, coleslaw, watermelon and cookies.

“Our families and residents always enjoy a good party, to spend time with loved ones and get to know one another,” said Wheatfield Commons Activities Director Laura Blackwell. “We have become like one big family!”

In addition to the festivities, families donated to the Wheatfield Commons’ Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraising efforts. The senior living community has been raising money for the October 5 Alzheimer’s Walk all year long!
