In the Blink of an Eye
September 8, 2022 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Don’t blink! That’s the advice of 103-year-old Angeline Cruver when it comes to aging.
“Once you get to be 100, it all goes by so fast,” she said.
A resident of Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga, Angie’s secret for longevity is to “stay away from men and don’t have children.”
Born in Spain on August 28, 1919, Angie’s parents immigrated to the United States when she was two years old, settling in Lackawanna where her father worked at Bethlehem Steel.
She and her sister opened a hair salon in Buffalo. After settling in Orchard Park with her husband Elmer Cruver, Angie ran her hair salon from their home. An avid dancer who always put her best foot forward, she regularly enjoyed getting dressed up for a night on the town.
A resident of Glenwell since October 2013, she enjoys playing bingo and visiting the hairdresser. Angie is proud that she has always been independent and always able to support herself. One of her favorite things that she ever bought was a red convertible.
