Home is Where the Heart is (Starting Line Apartments)

March 31, 2023 (Utica, NY) ─ It’s been a fun, festive and informative few months at the Starting Line Apartments in Utica.

In honor of Black History Month in February, residents and visitors were greeted with a display featuring historical facts and honoring a number of significant Black Americans and their contributions. In addition, the community hosted a weekly t‐shirt raffle. The first week’s raffle winner Carla Perry is pictured top left.

Residents prepared charcuterie boards during a “Treats for Your Heart” Better Balance class with the New York State Office for the Aging. Pictured top right are residents Shirley Liss and Bobbi Stahl, seated, and DePaul staff member Emma Kessler standing beside Carol from the Office of the Aging.

Staff and residents also celebrated Mardi Gras. Pictured bottom left are staff members Tanya Cotto, Tonya Duff, Emma Kessler, Stefanee Walker and Len Dutton, and on the right is resident Shirley Liss.
