June 21, 2023 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ From raising awareness to funds, residents at Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga, have an abundance of reasons to smile.

Glenwell celebrated Juneteenth with an interactive drumming workshop presented by Youssou from the African American Cultural Center. Seniors and staff were introduced and invited to play a variety of drums and learned an African dance. Pictured clockwise above during the workshop are Glenwell seniors Theresa Stefanski, Eileen Finnigan, Marilyn Deans and Carl Kryszak.

Glenwell is participating in the 2023 Buffalo Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 30. There are several ways to support the community’s fundraising efforts.

Stop in for a Hot Dog Roast on Tuesday, June 27 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. to purchase a hot dog, chips, pop and a candy bar for $5.00. Pictured above, left to right, at the hot dog roast are Rita Wrobel, Sandra Scott and Ronald Janicki.  And ice cream floats will be available for $3.00  from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in July.  Glenwell is located at 2248 Old Union Road in Cheektowaga.
