August 1, 2023 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Time in the garden, art therapy, and ice cream floats for a good cause are just a few of the key ingredients to happiness. That’s what residents at Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga, have discovered at least!

Pictured clockwise above, Ruby Joiner helps water the flowers and produce in the courtyard, Grace Nowicki shows off a completed sunflower wreath which residents made to decorate the activity room, Mary Anne Licker models a bracelet she made with repurposed materials including air tubes from fish tanks and bandanas, and John Topolski and family enjoy creamscicle floats at Glenwell’s recent Ice Cream Float Sale, one of several fundraisers the senior community has organized to support the 2023 Buffalo Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 30.

Glenwell is also teaming up with Total Sports Enterprises Buffalo for a charitable auction to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Bidding begins August 2 and closes August 7.

The online auction will offer Buffalo sports-themed items from the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
