July 30, 2024 (Cheektowaga, NY) ─ Sunshine and warm weather bring a myriad of opportunities to bloom at Glenwell, a DePaul Senior Living Community in Cheektowaga.

Glenwell residents enjoyed a colorful afternoon at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. Pictured top left are Caroline Cooperman, Bonita Roos, Sharllann Kingsley, Christina Karney, Mary Janowski, Judith Knight, and Frances Bologna.

Friends and family at Glenwell gathered for a cookout, complete with hamburgers and hot dogs, pasta salad, ice cream, music and a photobooth. Pictured top right are Cheryl and Ronald Kamholz and Christopher Hackbarth.

Summer just isn’t complete without the taste of fresh peaches, so residents made Southern double crust peach cobbler as well as homemade biscuits covered in butter and cinnamon sugar. Pictured preparing the confectionary goodies is June Blattenberger.

And who needs a pool when you can have just as much fun with pool noodles?! Residents created ‘popsicles’ crafts and played games using balloons and bean bags. Pictured bottom right are Sally Watson, Victoria Dzierba and Marion Fry.

Glenwell was thrilled to be awarded Best Dessert and the Senior Choice Award of Best Entrée at the Network in Aging of WNY’s Taste of the Network! Glenwell staff Stacy Jasinski, Tina Hagen and Rhonda Jordan embraced the French theme and presented Chicken Francaise and macarons paired with a Kir Royale cocktail that featured blackberry brandy and champagne, a very popular drink in France.
